Day Hike at the Schoorlse Duinen: Explore Together the Highest Dunes of North Holland

Did you know that the dunes around Schoorl in Noord Holland are the highest along the Dutch coast, with the tallest coming in at about 54 meters? Besides this, the nature area around Schoorl is extremely beautiful and a real sanctuary for the Dutch wild flora and fauna.

THE WALK:
Leave at home the stress from the week, switch off your phone and come with me to explore this beautiful Dutch hidden gem. 
We will take our time to visit this beautiful area.
The hike is around 15 km and we will walk through the forest, the open dune landscape and reach the coast. We will enjoy a beautiful view of the beach and then we will walk back to our starting point. During the walk, I will tell you about the local flora and fauna which inhabit this region. We will talk also about dune dynamics and the management of the Dutch coastal landscape. We will stop for a break for lunch around 13:00. 
 
You don’t have to be particularly fit for this excursion, but please mind that we will walk for several hours throughout the day.
 
MEETING POINT:
Buitencentrum Schoorlse Duinen (the information center of the dunes). Oorsprongweg 1, 1871 HA Schoorl (NH)
We will meet on Sunday the 13th of March at 11:00 in the morning. We will walk for about 15 km and we will be back at the starting point around 16:00 in the afternoon. Afterwards, you can buy yourself a refreshing drink and enjoy it on the terrace of the visitor’s center. 
 
WHAT TO BRING:
Your own lunch and water. 
 
COST:
The cost for this excursion is 16,50 euro per person.
